Underpainting with Gouache - Sunday 21st September 2025

This workshop is tailored for anyone with experience of soft pastels and wishing to explore and experiment with gouache paint as a method of underpainting before applying soft pastels. This technique offers the opportunity to work with both wet and dry media. Applying an underpainting allows for colours to be blocked in and paint and brush stroke to be seen, providing the best of both worlds.

The morning session will cover underpaintings for a seacape with a break for lunch to allow surfaces to dry before continuing in the afternoon with pastel application.
